Distraction is the most common cause of avoidable accidents for new drivers. Phones, food, and loud conversations are the three biggest culprits. Stowing the phone before starting the car is the single highest-value habit.
If you are in a minor incident, stay calm, move to safety if possible, exchange insurance information, take photos, and report it to your insurer the same day.
